It is a good opportunity and privilege for me to know your vibrant initiatives at different forum. I hope that in the days to come you will be able to see the world you dream for.
Things are changing very fast across the world. Unless we understand and appreciate these changes, ideas with whatever passion or mission we create or nobleness we attach is not going to serve humanity in a big and long lasting way. To achieve this in short period, I think ‘unlearning’ is a great tool.
In this regard, I would like to repeat my ideas for your kind consideration. It is plain and simple. And is the idea of unlearning.
Unlearning is the idea of future. Based on this, I have written a book, which I feel, may be a valuable source for discussion. It would be my pleasure if I get opportunity to speak on unlearning at any foray.
I propose a simple topic - Unlearn Before U learn.
With due regards to Justice Venkatachaliah, I would like to give few ideas which have potential to change this country.
1. Making English compulsory - Our schools, college must educate children in English. English should be made compulsory language for all. It should not happen in a civilized society that only privileged and rich read and write English.
2. Computer Infrastructure – Information technologies and E-learning infrastructure should be given due emphasis and necessary funds to grow. This will provide open and fair opportunity for all. This is the tool with the human being, which can be handy for the years to come.
3. Change in Governance - We should change the type of governance at every level so that well qualified and deserving person reaches to the top. Giving credit and position to undeserving is very frustrating to educated and hard working people. I remember your quote of George Washington at India Habitat Centre, and we must work in this direction to achieve the objective.
4. Sound Infrastructure – Infrastructure like roads, telecomm and broadband network, good Institutions etc must be given top priority.
5. Providing Basic Amenities – Basic amenities like clean water, good medical facilities, good schools etc are the essential ingredients for human growth.
6. Modern Direction – Entrepreneurships, innovation and creativeness need to be given top most priority for sustainable economy.
7. Accepting Change – The concept of change need to be brought deeply in human attitudinal level. This can be achieved by unlearning. This is must to understand present and meet the demand of the future needs.
8. Involvement of Consumer – The user need to be involved freely and openly in most of the decision making to bring the confidence level of the people. People of 21st century are more aware and conscious than ever in the human history. Involvement of the people at the bottom of the pyramid will further ensure the smooth implementation of tasks.
